About Me

London born, to a Jamaican father and Trinidadian mother, I spent much of my childhood on these islands being alternately thrilled and terrified by local fables. Myths, flora, and fauna of both the Caribbean and the British Isles have since heavily influenced my writing. My titles include doctor, vet, writer, person-who-makes-animals-better and Mum.

I am a member of SCBWI (the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators), WOL (Writing Our Legacy), and BBWASA (Black British writers and scholars). As a writer, I value these communities. Safe places where I can be myself.
